Activities undertaken in the last 12 months

• Leeds Building Schools for the Future
  
  Leeds Council awarded the Environments for Learning consortium, led by Interserve and Barclays Private Equity, the contract to design, build, maintain and operate four secondary schools in Leeds. SMBC arranged financing of £120m to fund the project, which was signed in April 2007. SMBC has recently arranged a second tranche of funding of £40m for the Inner New School for West Leeds and Wortley.
• Leeds Grouped Schools
  
  In April 2005 SMBC arranged a £119m project financing facility to fund the Leeds Grouped Schools Project which was awarded by the Leeds Council to Investors in the Community (Leeds Schools) Ltd.
